ONE really makes a difference!

this provocative photo of Jessica Alba is part of the website declareyourself.com; in a new print campaign about the power of your vote.

I don't like to get political. And I certainly don't want our blog to "go there". But I do want to encourage everyone to vote. (Notice I'm not trying to tell you WHO to vote for.) I absolutely hate hearing people whine about how horrible of a job the government, president, mayor, etc. are doing and then find out the whiner didn't vote. If you are legally able to vote, then you don't get to complain and moan about the decisions being made if you didn't vote!

Don't think your one vote makes a difference? Consider these facts:

  • In 1962, governors of Maine, Rhode Island and North Dakota were elected by an average of one vote per precinct.
  • In 1989, a local Michigan ballot measure failed when it ended in a tie, after more than 10,000 votes were cast.
  • One vote made the difference in at least 16 city council and mayoral races between 1993 and 2005 in communities like Youngstown, Ohio and Charleston, West Virginia.

The people we elect shape the future of our culture and the freedoms and opportunities for our children. EACH PERSON MATTERS and I encourage you to do your part- register to vote, get educated on the elections, and VOTE!!
