sweet crispix mix, yummy!!

TRY THIS! I've been into trying out new recipe's lately and experimenting with them to make them better (both tastier and healthier).

makes 18 Cups
prep. 10 min.
cook 5 min.
bake at 300 degree oven for 15 min.

1 box (12 oz.) Crispix cereal
1/2 lb pecan halves
1/2 can (11 oz.) deluxe mixed nuts
1 C small pretzels
1 C cheese crackers (cheeze-Its)
1 C (2 sticks) butter
1/2 C light corn syrup
2 C light brown sugar
1/2 tsp baking soda
pinch of cream of tartar

1. Heat oven to 3oo degree's, spray two baking sheets with nonstick spray
2. In large mixing bowl mix together cereal, pecans, nuts, pretzels and cheese crackers. Set aside.
3. In a medium size saucepan melt the butter over medium low heat, stir in corn syrup and brown sugar. Cook mixture for 5 minutes, stirring continuously. Take off heat after 5 minutes and stir in baking soda and cream of tartar.
4. Carefully pour the hot mixture over cereal, stirring with a wooden spoon to coat all of the ingredients. Divide the mixture evenly over both of the baking sheets, bake at 300 degrees for 15 minutes, stirring twice.
5. Let mixture cool on baking sheets and break apart. Store in plastic baggies or sealed containers for freshness.

ENJOY!
