Let them eat cake!

Bake cupcakes in ice cream cones instead of liners and people will think you are a genius. I did this once for a potluck simply because I ran out of liners! The funniest part was watching adults grab a cone and start licking the frosting off like it was ice cream. (really grown ups- they've been sitting out for a couple hours; don't ya think the ice cream woulda melted off by now?!)

Did you know you can use applesauce in place of oil for cake mixes? Really, you can't taste the difference!

CAKE MIX FLAVOR INGREDIENTS
carrot- 1/2 C water, 3 eggs, 3/4 C applesauce
lemon- 2/3 C water, 3 eggs, 3/4 C applesauce
milk chocolate- 3/4 C water, 3 eggs, 2/3 C applesauce
white- 3/4 C water, 3 eggs, 3/4 C applesauce

butter recipe chocolate, cherry chip,
chocolate chip, chocolate fudge,
devil's food, golden vanilla,
party cake swirl, party rainbow,
spice & yellow
- 3/4 C water, 3 eggs, 3/4 C applesauce

Now if we could only find a way to substitute some veggies for the butter in frosting!

That is genius! you just bake 'em in there like you normally would in a liner?? Wow! Super cute :)

yup, just fill the cone with batter and bake as normal. I had my cones standing in the cupcake pan, but I think it would be fine on a cookie sheet as they didn't fall over. (just place in the oven verrry carefully!)

Brilliant! My step mom used to do this all the time for our school functions and halloween! Thanks for the recipe.
